Ozzy Osbourne Discography Rankings

Ozzy Osbourne is the original singer of the first Heavy Metal band Black Sabbath.

He is also a huge solo artist.

I became a fan of both when I was in high school.

I listened to Ozzy’s latest compilation at the time called The Ozzman Cometh, which includes both Sabbath and solo songs, as well as his first solo album Blizzard Of Ozz.

I loved both immediately and dove into his discography.

I love most of his albums and I love both Sabbath and solo very much.

I actually prefer Ozzy in Sabbath, but his solo stuff is phenomenal too and some of it I prefer over some of the Sabbath stuff.

It’s all good!!

I actually have only ever seen Ozzy once and that was with Sabbath at Ozzfest 2004 (review here), but wow that was the time to see him.

His health, sadly, has not been great for the last several years, although as of this typing, he is supposed to sing one more time at a huge all day show honoring he and Sabbath.

He is supposed to sing some solo stuff and sing with the original Sabbath guys.  

Fingers crossed this happens!! (July 23 Edit:  the show did happen and it was the best sendoff ever.  Sadly, Ozzy passed away on July 22, 17 days after the show happened.)

No matter what, though, his musical legacy is phenomenal.

Ozzy is super underrated as a singer. 

Unfortunately, many now know him from the show The Osbournes, which was entertaining and I know it was a hit and people loved it, but it also showed Ozzy really messed up (because he was unfortunately) and many I think see him as a buffoon or a joke because of that show.  I may be wrong but that’s what I think.

He’s not a buffoon.  He’s a great singer/frontman and he has a great discography that needs to be heard and enjoyed for all time.

If you only know him from The Osbournes, do yourself a favor and go listen to his music.  Solo and Black Sabbath.  You won’t regret it.
