He sang and played well.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Tears For Fears then came on shortly afterward, and just blew me away!!<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">The main guys in Tears For Fears, singer\/guitarist Roland Orzabal and singer\/guitarist Curt Smith, are still amazing and they have a great group of people in their band.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Their keyboard player is even an Ohio State University alumni.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">I love the fact that they opened with arguably their biggest song ever, Everybody Wants To Rule The World.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Some would think that&#8217;s weird, but I love it, because it sets the tone for the evening.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">To me, it says &#8220;Hey, here is our biggest hit, and now, here is the rest of the show and enjoy.&#8221;<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">And boy, did I enjoy.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">They totally blew me away, so much so, that I finally bought their 6 albums last night when I got home.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">They have a new album coming, and I can&#8217;t wait to buy it, as well.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Roland was quite funny, saying he had never seen so many Exit signs in his life at this venue (there were many).<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">He also told a story about being in Columbus in the 80s and had some &#8220;French Onion Soup&#8221; to combat some laryngitis he had at the time.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">I can&#8217;t say enough about how great they are.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Seek them out.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">They have other phenomenal songs, besides Everybody Wants To Rule The World.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">And to add to the night, I saw Hall &amp; Oates!!<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">I&#8217;ve been a fan of theirs for many years, but I just never got around to seeing them.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">I&#8217;m glad I finally did.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Daryl Hall and John Oates, to me, are a musical institution.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">They have hit songs and albums for weeks.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Both are still great. And their band is off the charts.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Their band is essentially the band Daryl uses for his Live At Daryl&#8217;s House TV show. If you&#8217;ve never seen it, look it up. Daryl and the band play with many different musical artists.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">They basically played most of their hits as well as a few deep cuts.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">So all in all, I had another great night at another great concert.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">On a side note: I was unaware last night of the terrorist attack that occurred at the Ariana Grande concert.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">I&#8217;m saddened beyond belief at what happened and for the people who lost their lives and were hurt at something that was\/is supposed to be fun.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">I don&#8217;t get on a soapbox a lot, but here I go: as you probably know, I go to many concerts.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">And at past shows, including last night at the Ariana Grande show, terrible things have happened.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Luckily, I have never been to a show where I got hurt or saw anyone die. And I hope I never do.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">After Dimebag Darrell&#8217;s murder on stage in Columbus at another venue on December 8, 2004, I have always been aware that something bad could happen at a show.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">But honestly, anything bad could happen if you&#8217;re at home. Or anywhere.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">So what I will say is this: live your life the best way you can and have fun when you can.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Don&#8217;t let things like this scare you to the point where you isolate yourself and do nothing.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">If you want to go a concert or some event, go.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">I do.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">And I&#8217;m going to continue to do it until I decide otherwise.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">I&#8217;m not going to let terror rule my life.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Nor should you.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Okay, off my soapbox.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">But again, my sincere condolences to the people who lost their lives.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">And to end this on a positive note, I had a great time seeing two bands that I admire very much.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">And I have more shows to go to.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">At least until 2018. Then maybe I&#8217;ll stop. Or maybe not. of Concert: May 22, 2017 Location of Concert: Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH Opener: Allen Stone I saw a phenomenal concert last night in Columbus, Ohio at the Schottenstein Center.\u00a0I saw for the first time Daryl Hall and John Oates, or better known as Hall &amp; Oates, and Tears For Fears.\u00a0I never thought I would ever see either one of these, but I&#8217;m glad I did.\u00a0Singer\/guitarist Allen Stone opened the show with a 3 song set, with no band. He sang and played well.\u00a0Tears For Fears then came on shortly afterward, and just blew me away!!\u00a0The main guys in Tears For Fears, singer\/guitarist Roland Orzabal and singer\/guitarist Curt Smith, are still amazing and they have a great group of people in their band.\u00a0Their keyboard player is even an Ohio State University alumni.\u00a0I love the fact that they opened with arguably their biggest song ever, Everybody Wants To Rule The World.\u00a0Some would think that&#8217;s weird, but I love it, because it sets the tone for the evening.\u00a0To me, it says &#8220;Hey, here is our biggest hit, and now, here is the rest of the show and enjoy.&#8221;\u00a0And boy, did I enjoy.\u00a0They totally blew me away, so much so, that I finally bought their 6 albums last night when I got home.\u00a0They have a new album coming, and I can&#8217;t wait to buy it, as well.\u00a0Roland was quite funny, saying he had never seen so many Exit signs in his life at this venue (there were many).\u00a0He also told a story about being in Columbus in the 80s and had some &#8220;French Onion Soup&#8221; to combat some laryngitis he had at the time.\u00a0I can&#8217;t say enough about how great they are.\u00a0Seek them out.\u00a0They have other phenomenal songs, besides Everybody Wants To Rule The World.\u00a0And to add to the night, I saw Hall &amp; Oates!!\u00a0I&#8217;ve been a fan of theirs for many years, but I just never got around to seeing them.\u00a0I&#8217;m glad I finally did.\u00a0Daryl Hall and John Oates, to me, are a musical institution.\u00a0They have hit songs and albums for weeks.\u00a0Both are still great. And their band is off the charts.\u00a0Their band is essentially the band Daryl uses for his Live At Daryl&#8217;s House TV show. If you&#8217;ve never seen it, look it up. Daryl and the band play with many different musical artists.\u00a0They basically played most of their hits as well as a few deep cuts.\u00a0So all in all, I had another great night at another great concert.\u00a0On a side note: I was unaware last night of the terrorist attack that occurred at the Ariana Grande concert.\u00a0I&#8217;m saddened beyond belief at what happened and for the people who lost their lives and were hurt at something that was\/is supposed to be fun.\u00a0I don&#8217;t get on a soapbox a lot, but here I go: as you probably know, I go to many concerts.\u00a0And at past shows, including last night at the Ariana Grande show, terrible things have happened.\u00a0Luckily, I have never been to a show where I got hurt or saw anyone die. And I hope I never do.\u00a0After Dimebag Darrell&#8217;s murder on stage in Columbus at another venue on December 8, 2004, I have always been aware that something bad could happen at a show.\u00a0But honestly, anything bad could happen if you&#8217;re at home. Or anywhere.\u00a0So what I will say is this: live your life the best way you can and have fun when you can.\u00a0Don&#8217;t let things like this scare you to the point where you isolate yourself and do nothing.\u00a0If you want to go a concert or some event, go.\u00a0I do.\u00a0And I&#8217;m going to continue to do it until I decide otherwise.\u00a0I&#8217;m not going to let terror rule my life.\u00a0Nor should you.\u00a0Okay, off my soapbox.\u00a0But again, my sincere condolences to the people who lost their lives.\u00a0And to end this on a positive note, I had a great time seeing two bands that I admire very much.\u00a0And I have more shows to go to.At least until 2018.
