My Ranking of Megadeth’s Discography
Megadeth are another huge favorite of mine.
I’ve been a fan since I was a teenager, which is when I became a fan of many of the bands/artists I am ranking on this website.
Dave Mustaine (vocals/guitar/songwriter/co-producer) has had many lineups, but he’s always picked great musicians to bring his musical vision to life.
And as I much as I love Metallica, I think Megadeth have probably been more consistently great with their discography.
Here is my ranking of their albums.
- Rust In Peace
- Countdown To Extinction
- Risk
- Cryptic Writings
- The World Needs A Hero
- The System Has Failed
- United Abominations
- Endgame
- Killing Is My Business…And Business Is Good
- Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying
- Super Collider
- Dystopia
- The Sick, The Dying…And The Dead
- Youthanasia
- Thirteen (Th1rt3en)
- So Far, So Good…So What!
- Hidden Treasures
- Rude Awakening
- Capitol Punishment (compilation with 2 new songs)
- The Big Four: Live From Sulfia, Bulgaria (Live album/DVD set with Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax)
- That One Night: Live In Buenos Aires
- Rust In Peace Live
- Countdown To Extinction Live
- MD. 45 The Craving (a side project Dave did in the 1990s. There are two versions. One with singer Lee Ving and the other Dave re-did the vocals.)
I will always be a Megadeth fan. Dave Mustaine is a phenomenal musician and songwriter. His voice is not for everyone, but I like it and it’s perfect for his songs.
Rattlehead!!! If you’re a fan, you get it.
