My Ranking of Metallica’s Discography

Metallica is one of the biggest bands ever.

Aside from Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden, Metallica are definitely the biggest Metal band in the world and ever really.

Having said that, they are quite polarizing.

Many love them, but also many love their first three albums, and hate just about everything else they’ve done.

Me?  I love most of it and don’t hate any of it (even the album they backed Lou Reed on, Lulu, is sometimes OK.)

Metallica are definitely another huge favorite of mine, and since I’m ranking some of my favorite bands/artists discographies, I have to rank Metallica’s too.

Here we go.

  1. Master Of Puppets
  2. Kill Em All
  3. Ride The Lightning
  4. Load
  5. Garage Inc.
  6. Death Magnetic/Beyond Magnetic EP (I’m ranking them together.)
  7. Reload
  8. St. Anger
  9. 72 Seasons
  10. And Justice For All
  11. Metallica (The Black Album)
  12. Hardwired…To Self Destruct
  13. S&M (Live Album)/I Disappear Single from M-I 2 Soundtrack (I’m ranking them together.)
  14. The Big Four:  Live From Sulfia, Bulgaria (Live album/DVD set with Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax)
  15. Live Shit Binge And Purge
  16. Through The Never Soundtrack
  17. S&M 2
  18. Lulu (It’s really a Lou Reed album, but Metallica was his band for the album.)

There you go.  Metallica rules!!
