Stanley Simmons Are Awesome!!
- Date of Concert: Tuesday, September 29, 2026
- Location of Concert: The Loud in Huntington, WV
- Opener: Miles Connor
I’ve known of Evan Stanley and Nick Simmons for years because their dads (Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons) are in my favorite band ever, KISS.
I knew they were musically talented, but oh my gosh they are PHENOMENALLY talented.
I preordered their debut album together, Dancing While The World Is Ending (album review here) after watching some of their videos and was blown away by what they were coming up with.
And when they announced they were touring and were playing about 20 minutes from where I live, I could not resist going.
Regardless of who their parents are, they have their own sound(s) and again, it’s PHENOMENAL.
Their album is by far my album of the year 2026. And seeing them live proved that to me even more.
Like I said, they were going to play at a venue about 20 minutes from where I live called The Loud (used to be The V Club) in Huntington, WV.
Miles Connor from Dallas, Texas (now Nashville, Tennessee) opened the show and he and his band were quite good. Definitely check them out too.
But the headliners, Stanley Simmons, were just off the charts.
Their voices blend so well together. The musicianship is great and I love it all, but the singing/songwriting is what really blows me away.
Lots of energy (jumping off the walls literally), really loud, tons of enthusiasm and crowd interaction (Nick gave me a few acknowledgments from the stage including when I held up their album and he is constantly working the crowd), and the songs and talent these guys and their band have are again PHENOMENAL. I’m not going to quit saying that.
They are very eclectic (think Crosby Stills & Nash (& Young), Tom Petty, Laurel Canyon, dare I say Steely Dan a little bit with the sophistication, Simon & Garfunkel, rock music, and much more), musically and vocally, but it all gels together.
These guys really have something special and I hope this debut album and first tour are not one-offs.
I was able to meet them after the show (they met everyone that wanted to meet them and signed stuff/took pictures) and I told them how great I think they are and that their debut album, again called Dancing While The World Is Ending, is my album of the year 2026.
They were very nice and appreciative and again, I hope this is just the beginning of a long and awesome musical partnership.
You guys are amazing and maybe I’ll see you again someday.
Rock on!!
