The Boss: Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band Concert Review

My best friend Jamie and I went to see Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band!!

Neither of us had seen Bruce before but had wanted to for a long time.

The weather was still a bit chilly (some snow was blowing in the air while we were waiting in line) but otherwise, we had a great time.

Bruce and the band went on at 8 PM and played until 11 PM.

    No opening acts.

Bruce took requests from the audience as he is known to do.

Sixth song in, he was crowd surfing.

This guy and his band give it their all every single time they play.  Bruce even brought a lady out from the audience and strapped a guitar on her and let her play near the end of the show.

And if you’re a fan, you will always get your money’s worth.

    Lots of songs.

And personally, I thought it was cool that guitarist Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave) is playing with the band on this tour and the current album they are promoting, High Hopes.

He even sang The Ghost Of Tom Joad with Bruce, which was really cool.

    Such a great night.

    Lionize Concert Review

My friend Jamie and I went to see a band I had never heard of called Lionize.

He was a big fan, and even though I was not aware of them, I went anyway.

It was a fun show, in a very small venue.

We were right in front of the stage and we had a good time.

Not much more I can say about this one.

    Rob Zombie/Mastodon/Machine Concert Review

My friend Jamie and I went to see Rob Zombie, Mastodon, and Machine Head in Columbus.

I was very excited to see Machine Head because I unfortunately missed them in 2007 when they opened for Heaven And Hell (Black Sabbath w/Dio) and Megadeth.

So, this was a long time coming.

They put on a great set of songs from their catalog and really kicked butt.

I’m glad I finally got to see them.

Mastodon played next.  I only have a few of their albums but they were very good and solid.

Now Rob Zombie?  He’s always AMAZING.

I love all of his albums and live, he and his band always deliver.

Also, Zombie likes to go out into the crowd sometimes, and when he did this night, he walked right past Jamie and I and I actually was able to touch his dust jacket.  Ha.

The Tour!! KISS/Motley Crue Concert Review

In the summer of 2012, my favorite band KISS and maybe my 2nd or 3rd favorite band Motley Crue did a tour.

In fact, it was called The Tour!!

    I could not miss this.

KISS were about to come out with a new album (Monster) and seeing these two together, although I had seen both separately quite a few times by this point, was a no brainer.

My cousin Zachary and friend Jamie went with me.

Unfortunately, we were late to the show so we got there when Motley were playing their 6th song of their set.

I’d heard all of these songs they played sooooo many times by then, but still it upset me I missed half their set.  Still upsets me as I type this in 2023.

But what I saw of their set was great and fun.

Motley (original members Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Nikki Sixx, and Tommy Lee) always put on a fun show, and I love their music/albums, so just seeing them at all was a treat.

But I saw all of KISS’s set thank goodness.

They came out on a giant truss that was designed to look like a huge spider, and played a great rocking set as always.

I have many favorite bands, but they are my number 1.

They always make me feel like I’m 16 again, which is when I first saw them.

I love all of their albums and all of their band lineups (Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Eric Singer, and Tommy Thayer since 2004.).

Not much more to say, other than I love both of these bands and even though we weren’t there for all of it, it was still a fun time.

I Finally Saw a Member of Pantera

I finally got to see a member of one of my favorite bands, Pantera, in 2012.

    Vinnie Paul!!

Drummer of Hellyeah at this point.

I sadly never got to see Pantera.

They played in Huntington in 2001 but I stupidly did not go.  I’ll forever regret that (Pantera Guitarist Dimebag Darrell, Vinnie’s brother, was murdered in 2004.)

But I’m glad I got to see Vinnie drum for Hellyeah.

    They kicked butt.

I’m typing this in 2023 and unfortunately, Vinnie is now gone too.

    RIP Vinnie.  Forever missed.
