I Finally Saw AC/DC
- Date of Concert: April 13, 2010 (Rescheduled from October 6, 2009)
- Location of Concert: Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY
- Opener: A Local Band I do not remember the name of.
I FINALLY saw AC/DC.
I was supposed to see them in 2009, but for some reason, the show got postponed for the following year.
Luckily, it still happened because I was worried that it would not happen.
I got to see the Back In Black lineup of Brian Johnson (Lead Vocals), Angus Young (Lead Guitar), his older brother Malcolm Young (Rhythm Guitar), Cliff Williams (Bass), Phil Rudd (Drums).
What can I say? It’s AC/DC. One of the biggest and best rock bands ever.
They always deliver the goods.
Classic song after classic song.
Great stage show.
Everything you would want as a fan they give you.
I love AC/DC. Period.

My 2nd TNA Wrestling House Show

- Location of Event: Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington, WV
I went to my 2nd TNA Wrestling house show (non-televised event) in 2010.
This time, I got to meet two of the biggest wrestlers in the company, one of whom is one of the greatest of all time.
I met Kurt Angle (legit Olympic Gold Medalist in wrestling in 1996) before the show. He was doing a meet and greet outside the venue (the weather was pretty) and he signed a DVD, 8×10, a wrestling program, and I got my picture taken with him. I’ll never forget that.
I later got to meet Jeff Jarrett. He was taking pictures with fans inside the ring.
I met one of the female wrestlers that night too (Velvet Sky-she signed my program too).
Eric Bischoff (former boss of WCW) was also there and cut a heel promo, although he actually did go outside the ring at one point to retrieve a camera for a fan that they dropped on the floor. Cool to see him.
That’s mostly what I remember and that Kurt and Jeff teamed together in the main event and Kurt took pictures with fans in the ring too.

1st Time Seeing Rob Zombie
- Date of Concert: November 25, 2009
- Location of Concert: LC Pavilion in Columbus, OH
- Openers: Captain Klegg & The Night Creatures and Nekromantix
My best friend from college, Jamie McClintic, and I went to see Rob Zombie in Columbus, OH.
This was the 1st time I had seen Zombie and it would not be my last (I’m typing this in 2023 and I’ve seen him 4 times, and a little bit of a 5th time).
I really like all of his albums (he was soon going to release his 4th solo album Hellbilly Deluxe 2) and live, he always brings it.
I got to see his PHENOMENAL guitarist John 5 (John Lowery) for the 1st time too at this show. John has played with sooooo many people (currently playing with Motley Crue in 2023 and is a solo artist). He can play any style of music there is.
Zombie’s band was rounded out by Bassist Piggy D, who is still with him, and Drummer extraordinaire Tommy Clufetos.
Very fun show and what can I say? Zombie rules!!

Cruefest 2 Review

- Location of Concert: Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, OH
This was the second year of Cruefest, a festival started by Motley Crue in the previous year.
It only happened in 2008 and 2009 (I’m typing this in 2023.).
But I went to both years and it was a lot of fun both times.
This time, Motley played all of their Dr. Feelgood album, plus other Crue classics.
Sadly, Tommy Lee could not play the drums due to an injury (Morgan Rose of Sevendust stepped in for a few shows), but Tommy was still there to pump up the crowd some, played some cymbals on the song Girls, Girls, Girls, and played piano on Home Sweet Home.
Otherwise, it was another fun Motley show.
Godsmack played right before Motley and honestly, I think they stole the show. Godsmack are always amazing live and they truly stole the show this night.
Drowning Pool, Theory Of A Deadman, and Charm City Devils played too and all were solid.
There was apparently but I don’t remember it, and if it was there, I either didn’t see any of those bands or I got there later.
Either way, a fun night.

29 Years of British Steel: Judas Priest/Whitesnake/Pop Evil Concert Review

My cousin Zachary and I went to see Judas Priest and Whitesnake in Cincinnati, OH.
Pop Evil opened the show.
They were pretty good, but of course, we were there for Priest and Whitesnake.
Whitesnake were excellent. First time either of us had seen them.
Singer David Coverdale has always been great. This band is essentially his solo project because the lineup has fluctuated over the years.
His guitar duo of Doug Aldrich and Reb Beach were just incredible.
The whole band was great.
Not a long set, but lots of great songs.
A couple of new ones from their Good To Be Bad album, as well as a lot of songs from their self titled 1987 album, and other songs.
I’ve seen Whitesnake 3 other times, and no matter what, the band is always great.
Then the MIGHTY Judas Priest closed the show.
On this tour, they were celebrating 30 years of their 1980 album British Steel (technically 29 years old at this point) by playing the whole album in concert, plus some other songs too.
Singer Rob Halford is one of my heroes and favorite singers of all time.
Guitarists Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing are the greatest guitar duo of all time, in my opinion.
Bassist Ian Hill has always been solid as a rock, as well as long time Drummer Scott Travis.
I love all of these guys.
Priest’s discography, as well as Whitesnake’s, is something to behold.
Phenomenal. Phenomenal. Phenomenal.

My 1st TNA Wrestling House Show
- Date of Event: May 2, 2009
- Location of Event: Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington, WV
My cousin Zachary and I went to our first TNA Wrestling house show (non-televised event) in Huntington, WV.
By this point (I’m typing this in 2023.), I had been to a few WWE house shows, but TNA Wrestling had not come around our area yet.
As it turned out, I think the TNA shows were more fun because they seemed to put a little more fan interaction in (wrestlers signing autographs, taking pictures).
I don’t remember a ton of it but I do remember the main event of Jeff Jarrett and The Dudley Boys (Bubba Ray and Devon) vs. Booker T and Beer Money (Bobby Roode and James Storm). At the end of the match, The Dudley Boys took pictures in the ring with fans, if they paid $20 for the picture.
Sorry I don’t have much more to say, but trust me, it was fun.

Disturbed/Sevendust/Skindred Concert Review

My cousin Zachary and I went to see another really cool show.
Two of our favorites Disturbed and Sevendust, along with opener Skindred.
Skindred I was not super aware of before this show, but I was very impressed. They really kicked butt.
Sevendust were next and wow they always kick butt. On album and in concert.
They’re in your face and heavy, but also very melodic too.
All original members too (Lajon Witherspoon on Lead Vocals, Guitarists Clint Lowery, who had recently rejoined and also sings, and John Connoly, Bassist Vince Hornsby, and Drummer/Screamer Morgan Rose).
Love these guys.
Then Disturbed closed the show. What can I say? They rock. Singer David Draiman, Guitarist Dan Donegan, Bassist John Moyer, and Drummer Mike Wengren are a great band.
Indestructible is my favorite album of theirs (they were touring on this at this time) but all their albums are very good.

I Saw Chris Jericho Wrestle

Another WWE house show (non-televised event) I went to.
Again, I don’t remember a ton of it (I’m typing this in 2023.) but I do remember seeing Chris Jericho wrestle.
I really like Jericho a lot. I especially like him as a singer of his band Fozzy, and just the fact he is such a huge music fan like I am.
I’ve since seen Fozzy in concert, went to their meet and greet, and saw Jericho sing for his KISS tribute band Kuarantine, which is a lot of fun.
Again, I’m sorry I don’t have much to say, but again, I know it was a fun show because they always are.

Cruefest 1 2008 Review

Motley Crue announced they were doing their own festival: Cruefest.
It was pretty cool, but unfortunately, they only did it in 2008 and 2009.
But I went to both years and I really enjoyed it both times.
This year it was Motley, Buckcherry, Papa Roach, SIXX AM, and Trapt.
Trapt opened. I don’t remember much of them (I’m typing this in 2023.) but I know they did a solid set.
SIXX AM played next. I’ve been a fan of theirs from the start. It includes Nikki Sixx of Motley (he did double duty on this tour) on Bass, DJ Ashba on Guitar, and James Michael on Vocals. Really good band.
Papa Roach I’ve never been a big fan of, but I must say they put on a great show. Singer Jacoby Shaddox even went into the audience at one point, which was awesome. I give it to them, they were very good.
Buckcherry were next. Been a fan since their first album in 1998. They were in the midst of a comeback at this point and they were rocking big time. Great stuff.
Then Motley closed with a great set of classics and a couple of new songs from their great latest album at the time, Saints Of Los Angeles.
Really good show all around.

Plant & Krauss Part 2
- Date of Concert: July 18, 2008
- Location of Concert: Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY
I saw Robert Plant & Alison Krauss w/T Bone Burnett again in 2008.
This time in Lexington, KY.
I went with my Aunt Kim and her friend and mine, Barry Gillum.
Like before, they sang and played a lot of songs from their great album Raising Sand, plus some Led Zeppelin songs, solo songs from each of their catalogs, and other songs.
Mostly the same set from the first time we saw them, but with some differences.
Another very fun show.
Everyone was having fun on stage and in the audience.
Hearing Robert and Alison sing is always magical.
I’m glad I got to see them again.
